Why this happens
If you uninstall ABConvert from Shopify Settings while an A/B test is still running, the app doesn’t get a chance to remove the test code from your theme. This can leave behind active snippets or script references that continue to run on your storefront.
To avoid this, always uninstall the app using the ABConvert in-app uninstall button. See how to uninstall safely →
How to fix it
Option 1: Reinstall and ask support to stop the test
This is the safest way to restore your store, especially if you were running a Price Test or Shipping Test in ABConvert.
Reinstall ABConvert from the Shopify App Store.
Reach out to our support team via the in-app chat.
We’ll temporarily restore access so you can stop all active tests.
Once all tests are closed, let us know.
Then, you can safely uninstall ABConvert.
Option 2: Manually remove the test code
⚠️ Warning: If the test was pricing or shipping test, use Option 1 to avoid leaving behind unwanted changes.
If your test did not involve a Price Test or Shipping Test, you can manually remove the leftover code from your theme.
Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin.
Under your live theme, click … More actions > Edit code.
In the code editor, look for and delete:
Any snippet files named like
abconvert-xxx-test.liquid
Any references in theme.liquid like
{% render 'abconvert-xxx-test' %}
Save your changes and refresh your storefront.
