If you're not seeing analytics data for your experiment, follow these key steps:

1. Check timing – Understand when data should appear

2. Verify Web Pixel status – Confirm data collection is enabled

3. Review common issues – Work through diagnostic checklist

4. Contact support – If issues persist after troubleshooting

Step 1: Check how long your experiment has been running

Just launched (0-1 hours)

This is normal. Analytics data won't appear immediately due to our caching system.

Why this happens

Your analytics are cached for up to 10 minutes to deliver faster load times (under 50 milliseconds instead of several seconds). When you check analytics right after launching, you're viewing an initial snapshot before meaningful data has accumulated.

What to do

Wait 1-2 hours after launching your experiment, then refresh your analytics dashboard. This gives the system time to collect and display meaningful data.

Running for 1-2+ hours

If your experiment has been active for a few hours and still shows no data, move to Step 2.

Step 2: Verify your experiment status

  1. Check Experiment health in analytics page, and see if Script status and WebPixel are both showing Enabled.

Check Experiment health in analytics page, and see if Script status and WebPixel are both showing Enabled
  2. If any of them is showing Disabled, you will have to enable it manually to have script running and data tracking correctly.

    1. If Script Status is Disabled, go to Setting > ABConvert Script Status, click Configure and enable the script according to the test type you're running.

If Script Status is Disabled, go to Setting > ABConvert Script Status, click Configure and enable the script according to the test type you're running.

    2. If WebPixel is Disabled, go to Setting > WebPixel Status and enable WebPixel.

Note: After enabling the Web Pixel, visitor data should appear within 15-30 minutes. Conversion data appears as customers complete purchases.

Step 3: Review common configuration issues

If your Web Pixel and Script are both enabled but data still isn't appearing, check these items:

Has your store received any traffic?

Analytics only populate when real visitors interact with your experiment. Check:

  • Visit your store in an incognito/private browser window

  • Navigate to the page where your experiment runs

  • Try to trigger events such as add to cart or checkout

  • Wait 15-30 minutes and check analytics again

Is your analytics filter correct?

Your analytics view might be filtered to exclude current data. Make sure to remove all filters in analytics page and see if there's any data coming in.

Step 4: Check in incognito

Visit the test in an incognito browser

As you want to test if the analytics is working and collect data correctly, you can use an incognito browser to pretend you are a new customer and shop for your stores. The ABConvert script will collect data and record your events as you browse your website, then send the data to the analytics dashboard.

Refresh the Analytics Page to see if the event is recorded

After visiting the test, you can go back and refresh the Analytics Page to see if your event is recorded.

Step 5: Contact support

If you've completed these steps and still don't see data after 2+ hours, contact our support team for further investigation.

FAQ

Is my data being lost?

No. All visitor interactions and conversions are recorded in real-time. Caching only affects when data appears in your dashboard.

Will caching affect my test results?

No. Caching only affects dashboard display timing. All conversions and visitor data are tracked accurately in real-time. Your experiment results remain precise.

How often should I check analytics?

Recommended frequency: Check analytics once or twice daily. This provides fresh insights while benefiting from improved dashboard speed.
