For price test using duplicate product or duplicate variant methods, the test products or variants will have their own inventory by default.
To help you manage duplicated products or variants at ease, we developed an inventory syncing mechanism to help our user better manage their inventory.
This article will explain how to set up inventory syncing.
How to set up
Go to the Settings -> Turn on inventory syncing (in our app). Then, from the next test, your test products' inventory will be in sync.
How it works
After you turn on inventory syncing, whenever the inventory of your test product variants changed, we will also update the corresponding variants' inventory.
For example: initially you have A product that has 3 variants with 10 inventories.
Product A:
Variant 1 : 10 inventories
Variant 2 : 10 inventories
Variant 3 : 10 inventories
After you create a price test with duplicate variant method for one price, the product A then has 6 variants with 10 inventories.
Product A:
Variant 1 : 10 inventories
Variant 2 : 10 inventories
Variant 3 : 10 inventories
Variant 1* : 10 inventories
Variant 2* : 10 inventories
Variant 3* : 10 inventories
Every time, there is an inventory change to Variant 1, it will change Variant 1*'s inventory accordingly.
For example, Variant 1 change from 10 to 9 inventories. Then you have:
Product A:
Variant 1 :9 inventories
Variant 2 : 10 inventories
Variant 3 : 10 inventories
Variant 1* : 9 inventories
Variant 2* : 10 inventories
Variant 3* : 10 inventories
This will apply to every scenario that after you stopped your test, your original variant will have the exact inventory.
