How to use preview mode for my Shopify Function (Cart Transform) price test
Step 1: Prepare a duplicate of your live theme
Preview tests run in draft themes, not your live store.
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Click Actions > Duplicate on your current live theme.
Rename the duplicate to something like Price Test Preview for easy tracking.
Step 2: Create your price test
Follow the standard steps to set up a price test in ABConvert.
When you reach the Final Review step, you’ll see a Preview button next to Create Test.
Step 3: Create a preview test
Once you click on Preview, a modal will show up.
In the modal, select one of your unpublished themes (choose the duplicate you just created).
Click Create Preview to generate your preview test.
ABConvert will now prepare your preview version and redirect you to the preview analytics page.
Step 4: Explore your preview
Once your preview is ready:
You’ll be taken to a Preview Analytics page.
Click View Preview URLs to open a modal with preview links.
Use these links to:
View the homepage for each test group
Toggle Individual Product Links to see product pages directly
Use the "Clipboard" icons to copy and share preview links with your team
Note: No analytics data is collected during preview mode.
In your preview, you’ll also see an ABConvert Preview Widget on the page. You can drag it around and:
Switch between test groups in the Test Group dropdown
Expand the Products section to access direct product page links
Step 5: Launch or save your test as a draft
Once everything looks correct:
Return to your ABConvert Dashboard.
Under Your Tests, click the three dots (⋮) next to your preview test.
Choose one of the following options:
Launch: Publish the test live immediately on your store.
Convert to Draft: Save it for further editing before launch.
