Shopify recently release delivery customization function for merchant to play around with their shipping options.
ABConvert understand beside customization shipping options, there is a need to A/B testing shipping options.
Therefore, we launched a Delivery Customization test for you to experiment with the following operations:
Rename delivery method
Hide delivery method
Reorder delivery method
In this article, we will explain step by step how to start a delivery customization test.
β οΈ Please notice that delivery customization only work on the shipping options section (The section that shows rate).
Not the delivery method section.
Step 1 - Create a delivery customization test
Visit "Create New Test," select "Create Checkout Test," and then select the delivery customization test. You will be navigated to the "Create Delivery Customization Test" page.
Step 2 - Input settings
Like our other A/B tests, you can set your test name, description, and traffic split percentages.
Then, you can start customizing each variant. You can also choose to do nothing in a variant. In each variant, you can add one or more operations.
In each operation, each delivery method will be checked to see if it meets the condition. If it does, then our app performs the operation according to your settings.

You can add multiple operations, and we will perform all of them and display the final state of the shipping method section.
In this article, we are going to set the variants as follows:
Original: Rename "Standard" to "Free"
Variant: Reorder "Expedite" to the 1st position
After everything is set, click "Next" to launch the test.
Step 3 - Preview the test
After the test is created, you can view it on our dashboard. Click the link to visit the "Analytics" page.
On the "Analytics" page, you can preview the test by clicking each preview link of the variant.
In the preview checkout, you can see the shipping methods displayed differently according to the settings.
Give your test some time to run, then you can analyze your results and make changes to your checkout.
